Love these odd little buggers! I have knee problems, and just finished months of physical therapy. My therapist approved two kinds of shoes for me, and this was one. I was, to put it mildly, unhappy. I love cute, strappy, useless little shoes (preferably heeled) with no support. But as this was my only sandal option and summer is here…I bit the bullet and tried on both the Newport H2 and the Venice. I normally wear an 8.5 but had to go up to a 9 in both. I liked the look of the Venice better, but the Newport H2 provided much more lateral stability and support, and that’s what I need. I also have a wider foot, and these accommodated my feet well. I got a pair in purple/mango and hated them for the first few days. I turned the corner about day 3, when we went to Maui for a week. Amazingly, I can wear these sandals all day in comfort, without any knee pain. I hiked with them, did several activities that required closed toed shoes, wore them to the beach…and just threw them in the washer at our beach condo. The sand and red Maui mud washed out beautifully, and they look like new. I’m more surprised than anyone how much I love these sandals. Comfortable Shoes – Not a pretty shoe, but oh so comfortable. Great traction, great fit, easy to adjust & super easy to clean. Soles of feet get a little sweaty; even so you will not slip around in these shoes. Love the toe protection. Even used these for a little bouldering!
Great all around footwear – I bought these for my daughter. She wears them all the time, even to the gym to work out. (She wears socks.) She says they are very comfortable. I like the fact that they don’t smell like most sandals. This is a great all around footwear hybrid. After reading other reviews, we bought them 1/2 size larger. Great comfortable shoe – This shoe/sandal is cute and fits great for the person with a wide foot. The arch support just adds to the comfort and makes them the shoes I grab from the closet time and again. I own 3 pair of keen shoes and cannot recommend them enough.
Love the funny-looking shoe! I followed advice of others in these reviews and ordered 1/2 size up. Baby Phat Limoux Boots High Shaft. They are a perfect fit, and very comfy. I would say that despite the wide toe box, which I love, they are certainly not a wide shoe. I have a narrow foot, and I usually don’t even tighten the elastic. I bought the purple with mango trim, and they are quite a sensation.
My Newport H2′s just arrived (ordered Sunday, arrived Tuesday, stellar service from Zappos, as usual) and they are fantastic. Definitely order at least a half size up though- I usually wear a 7 & the 7 1/2 fits perfectly. If you like your shoes roomier, go a whole size up. I can tell these shoes are going to be my go-to shoes for the summer already.
These are great summer shoes for anyone who has an active lifestyle. I also suffer from bad feet (bunions) and these feel almost as good as my orthodics. They are lightweight and make a good substitute for my walking shoes. One small blister on my 4th toe from the inside finished edge was easily fixed by rubbing my nail file on the edge.
Amazing shoe – Very rarely do I put on a shoe without experiencing the “growing pains” that come when my foot adjusts to that new environment. With the Newport H2, however, I put it on and was able to wear it comfortably all day on the very first day I put it on. The shoe itself is quite versatile: I wore it at a barbeque in 90 degree weather, and my feet were cool and comfortable. On another occasion, I wore them trekking across a long jetty to a beach area – the shoe wore perfectly well across the rocks (in terms of traction and control), and continued to be comfortable and lightweight even when I splashed through some tide pools, and wandered through the sandy beaches. Each of these difference environments never changed the performance of these shoes – which is truly top notch! Baby Phat Limoux High Shaft Boots. I recommend them to anyone who leads any type of active lifestyle, and who wants a shoe that will take you on a very comfortable ride. Plus they are awfully cool looking, and made by a wonderful, socially conscious, company – what more can you want in a shoe.
Cool-but a bit hot! These shoes are extremely comfortable and cool looking. The downside is they are a bit hot in warm weather! I know this seems strange since they are so “open,” but my feet never sweat, and they felt a bit clammy in these (perhaps because they are mostly rubber). A bit tough to pull on at first, but this wouldn’t stop me from purchasing… Good for around town. For serious hiking they could become annoyingsticks, rocks, dirt, etc. can easily find their way into the shoe.
Favorite shoe of all time – I had been coveting people’s Keen shoes for 2 years when I finally decided to take the plunge and order the Newport H2. Best decision, ever. I ordered my usual size and needed to exchange for a half-size larger, which with Zappos.com, was a breeze. From the moment I put these shoes on, I knew I’d found shoe nirvana. The foot bed is gloriously comfy, I love the look (kinda kooky, like me) and the fit is always perfect. My feet change sizes when the weather gets hot, and all I have to do is adjust the elastic thingamabob to accommodate my expanding feet! I get comments on these shoes all the time and I love to ramble on about my love for them. I will be buying more Keens in the future!
Great look and fabulous comfort!! I have two pair of the h2 keens and I purchased a pair for my mom and a pair for my partner…they love them as well….I’m a massage therapist, on my feet all dayso, I need great support…after along day at the office my feet feel wonderful…I want to purchase them in every color…The Keens run smallI have to purchase them a half size largerif you have a large instep some people find them a challenge to get on!
This is my third pair of Newports, and I’ll be back for more. The first pair bought two years ago still makes for great ’round the house wear, but they have really stretched out. Also, after LOTS of wear over the past couple years, the elastic lace is starting to show signs of fraying, but I’m impressed they’ve lasted this long.
Love My Keens & Zappos – I wish I would have found Keens sooner. My back and Knee problems seem better since I have been wearing these shoes. I did read all of the other reviews before I bought these shoes. I wanted a sandal with a covered toe box because I work at an Ice arena and I had someone step on my toe wearing an ice skate when I was wearing an open toe sandals. Wow that hurt. Now I can wear my Keens Newport H2 with no fear. I will be buying more Keens. Have already bought the Keen Yogui.
I love my new Keen’s! I walk 3 miles in them every morning. They required no break in time. I did order a half size bigger and they are perfect. I ordered the purple pair and now I want the dark red ones. I will definitely order another style too. My 11 year old daughter also owns this style and she hasn’t taken them off. Three of my friends ordered some too and they all love them.
I love the look of this shoe and it seems like it would be extremely comfortable but I could not get my foot into it. I have a high arch and instep and could not no matter how I tried get my foot into this shoe!! I really hate to do it but am sending it back. Zappos is great and will always shop with this site.
Just what I wanted, glad I bought a larger size – This is the perfect “city sandal” when you don’t want your bare toes stepped on in the subway or exposed to whatever’s on the sidewalk. I’m glad I read the other reviews that said to go a half size larger. I normally wear a size 7. But purchased a 7 1/2 in this style. The fit is perfect, and I would definitely have been unhappy if I had bought a size 7, as was my initial intention.
